Educator and feminist activist. A graduate of Parsons College, Iowa, with graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Rice University, and the University of Houston at Clear Lake, where she also served as Counselor/Coordinator of Women's Resource Services. She was elected to two terms of the Clear Creek Basin Authority (an agency to combat pollution), state president of the American Association of University Women, and belonged to many other organizations regarding women's rights. Brown was defeated in a 1996 election (District 7) and smear campaign for the State Board of Education.
Originally formed as the Texas Gay Task Force, the TGLTF was the first statewide gay/lesbian organization in Texas. Organized in 1973 for the purpose of planning annual conferences (until 1990), the TGLTF served as the parent organization for the Lesbian/Gay Democrats of Texas and the Lesbian/Gay Rights Advocates.

Contains photocopies of letters written by McCormick to John Mayhead 1943-1946 describing her training in the ASP program at Avenger Field, Sweetwater, Texas; and service with the WASP until disbandment in 1944. Two of the letters were written to Mr. Mayhead while he was a prisoner of war in Germany during World War II. Also contains scanned prints of two photographs of McCormick, Finfinella emblem and a newsclipping about McCormick ca. 1943.
Joined the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS) in 1942. Stationed at New Castle Army Air Base and with the 5th Ferrying Squadron at Love Field, Dallas, Texas. Died in 1943 while in Pursuit training.
