Wall Board of Education
Mr. Emmett Lehr, President
Wall, Texas
Dear Mr. Lehr,
Please except [sic] my resignation as a teacher in Wall School effective about Nov. 15. I would like to ask for a year’s leave of absence but realize this might not be fair as the future is too uncertain.
It nearly breaks my heart to write this letter at all but Dr. Brasens the doctor now feels that for my health’s sake it is important for me to take off from work for at least six months. I have always loved teaching and children but am getting so tense and nervous, and discouraged that I can’t eat or sleep properly. Also, I have my own family and my little nice pupils to think of.
I want to thank you for being so nice to me during my years in Wall School. I have sincerely tried to be of service and helpful to the many fine children, teachers, and parents I’ve had the privilege of being associated with. I will always be grateful for the many courtesies extended to me,
Sincerely yours,
Frances Keys
