Dear John:
Have thought of you frequently even though I haven’t written. Have been kept on the go constantly. It is awfully hard, as you undoubtedly know, to write letters after getting to the hotel at nights. After having dinner and getting my records straight usually am ready for bed.
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving day. I had planned on having dinner in Chicago with my two sisters and Mother, but was in Medicine Hat enroute to a base in Alberta. Landed late in the afternoon dead tired and didn’t have dinner until around eight o’clock. Needless to say, did not have an American Thanksgiving dinner in Canada.
Have been at the base only two days this month. My last time in, the 17th, arrived at 4:00 A.M. and was out again by 12:300 P.M. Came in last night and was given today off. It is really just another work day as I had to turn in a number of papers, collect clothes from the cleaner and straightened my room etc.
Wish you could have been with me on my last two Canadian trips. Encountered some terrific weather – also a lot of snow in spots.
Haven’t taken an aircraft to Newark in about a month, although it is about time I got another Montreal shuttle.
Stopped off in Chicago night before last. Had quite an evening with my Sister and her husband. We had dinner at a restaurant clost to their home and later made the rounds of several clubs. A British (RAF) pilot whom I met some time ago was in Chicago and they invited him to accompany us. This was Keith’s first trip to the States. I met him in Canada.
Know you are kept quite busy too. Are you still flying Corsairs? I envy you, even though we are given every opportunity to check out on numerous aircraft.
Do hope you will get another leave before you are sent elsewhere. If you do let me know where I can see you and perhaps I can wangle a trip.
Am wishing for a southern trip tomorrow. My last few trips have all been to central and Northwest Canada so have had some cold weather.

Am listening to George Burns and Gracie Allen while typing. Just returned from the mess hall. Most everyone is at the club, but I decided not to go over. I don’t want to play ping pong tonight and I will not play poker or black jack and that is about all they do over there, --- except drink. I have been on the wagon, except maybe for a cocktail before dinner when out with someone.
Take time out to write soon. I will answer immediately, I promise.
