Dear Sir:-

My daughter has been flying for the Women's Auxillary Ferry Service since last November. She is now stationed at Love Field, Dallas, Texas. So far as I known is subject to all the rules and regulations of the U.S.Army, but so far the WAFS have not been officially taken into the army.
If I am not mistaken there was a provision last year whereby the members of the armed forces are exempt about $3000 on their INCOME TAX. Is it fair that girls flying for the army should pay an income tax on the full amount of thier wages when MEN doing similar work--BUT COMMISIONED OFFICERS--are EXEMPT $3000?
This therfore pays the MEN about $600 per year more than girls doing similar work.
If and when these girls are taken into the army and commissioned, matterS will be even.
If you have time I would like to hear from you regards this matter.
